This Tiny, Sleeping Creature Will Instantly Melt Your Heart With Its Cuteness

You probably know the word "dormouse" from the mad tea party scene in Alice in Wonderland, but dormice are quite real. Native to the British Isles, these small rodents are known for their furry tails and their habit of sleeping for close to half the year. In fact, the "dorm" part of their name comes from the Latin "to sleep," combined with the English "mouse."

If you don't believe how sleepy these guys can get, you need to see this hilarious and adorable video. The dormouse seen here snoring up a storm, is in a hibernation state known as torpor.

Don't worry, he won't wake up. He's being checked on by researchers to ensure he has enough fat to survive the winter. Afterwards, he'll be placed back into his hibernation box. Dormice can spend nearly three quarters of their life asleep, but are cute 100% of the time.
